S.J. Hungerford, who was announced as taking the post of acting president of the Canadian National Railways on the resignation of Sir Henry Thornton, had also as a consequence of taking that position become a member of the board of directors, according to an announcement made last week in Ottawa by Hon. R.J. Manion, Minister of Railways and Canals. No move will be made by the government to find a permanent successor to Sir Henry Thornton until after the termination of the Imperial Conference.
