C.N.R. ready to quit local water contract Dec. 30
A new water supply has been provided at the C.N.R. depot here which is intended to supplant the town system patronized by the company for a good many years. The town water will be discontinued at the end of December, and the local system will lose a $500 contract as a result.
The company has created a miniature dam on the little creek north of the station, where engines may stop and refill by means of a suction device operated by steam from the engine of the train. With the larger engines, the company intends to full up at Blackwater to sufficient capacity to run to Toronto Stouffville will only be an emergency one.
